SPIKE Studio is proud to bring you our 2022 Summer Academy Live and In-Person at Georgia Piedmont Technical College!
This year’s SPIKE Studio Academy experience will explore the true definition of family within the greater community in post COVID world. Today we are all contemplating the true definition of “returning to normalcy” and what it means to reconnect as a community. This year’s project elements and construction will explore and engage the students on ideas and memories of home, human interaction.
Students (Grades 8-12) will design a structure in their own property that can be private or inclusive of their extended community. The space and construction will explore engaging both personal space as well as the community. In addition, students will be exposed to design exercises and speaker presentations that explore cultural celebrations, sustainability, public health, and similar design projects that reinforce the project themes from architects, engineers and other industry professionals.
