DESCRIPTION:Designing with Perforated Metal Panels and Products 104: 1 AIA LU|HSW\n\nOffering almost endless pattern options as well as design versatility\, perforated panels and assorted perforated metal products are exploding in popularity. Perforated metal panels can provide semi-privacy\, reduce heat and glare\, act as an equipment screen\, an infill panel through stairwells and so much more. After completing this course\, attendees will have an understanding of what to expect with flatness and what the tolerances are for strength of metal versus percentage open. Participants will also understand how to achieve smooth and safe perforated products and the equivalent solid metal concept when it comes to choosing what percentage open will be best for the selected design.\n\nAfter attending this class\, you will:\n\n 	Understand the equivalent solid metal concept and how it relates to perforated panels\n\n\n 	Understand how percentage open in perforation design is related to tensile strength of metal and what gauge is utilize\n\n\n 	Understand the basic decisions in order to choose a perforated product and how each of those effect cost\n\n\n 	Learn about the importance of smooth perforations and post-fabrication painting to create a safe\, sharp edge free product.\n\n\n 	Will know the pros and cons between perforated\, expanded metal or wire cloth\n\n\n 	Understand how choices in assembly\, metal thickness and pattern effect flatness.

SUMMARY:2021 Emerging Mega Projects in Metro Atlanta
DESCRIPTION:MODERATOR\nMarsha Anderson Bomar\, F. ASCE\, F. ITE\, AICP\, ENV/SP Trainer\nAssistant General Manager for Capital Program Delivery\nMARTA\nMarsha Anderson Bomar is the Assistant General Manager of MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Regional Transit Authority) for Capital Program Delivery with a $400M per year budget.  She is currently serving her fourth term as Council Member for the City of Duluth\, Georgia and has been Mayor Pro Tempore three times. Previously she served as the Executive Director of the Gateway85 Community Improvement District\, the largest CID in the state of Georgia. Prior to the CID\, she was the Founder and President of Street Smarts\, Inc.\, a planning\, engineering and design firm\, and Data Smarts\, a data collection and management firm\, established in 1990\, both of which she sold in 2010. Marsha is an International Past President of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and recipient of the Burton Marsh Lifetime Service Award as well as the Theodore Matson Memorial Award. She recently completed her term on the American Society of Civil Engineers Board of Directors. \nMarsha earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Masters in Transportation Planning and Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn. She also holds a Masters of Civil Engineering from Princeton University. Marsha is the author of hundreds of publications\, articles and studies and an International speaker on technical subjects as well as Leadership and Ethics.  She is also the Mom of three\, stepmom to three\, has 4 in-law children\, 3 stepgrands and 1 grand. \nPANELISTS\nArtie Jones\, III\nDirector of Economic Development / Executive Director of Clearly College Park\nCity of College Park\, GA\nArtie Jones\, III was appointed to the position of Director of Economic Development for the City of College Park\, in October of 2013.  Jones utilization of industry standards\, combined with a progressive approach has transformed College Park into one of the most sought after places to do business in metro Atlanta. \nArtie has also developed College Park’s 1st Tax Allocation District located in downtown College Park. College Park’s first tax allocation district is anticipated to attract over $1.2 billion in development to the new Airport City Project.  He and his team announced the arrival of BMW’s $15 million technical training facility to locate at the Georgia International Convention Center’s Gateway Campus.  The facility will attract 8k to 10k trainees annually to College Park Georgia correlating into significant tax revenues captured in College Park hotels and restaurants. \nArtie is now working on establishing College Park’s second tax allocation district along College Parks Old National Highway and Godby Road area.  This redevelopment area will have a significant impact to the canvas of College Park\, as there are huge gains anticipated from the relocation of those hotels and industry impacted by the development of the ATL’s sixth runway. \nMason Ailstock\nPresident\nRowen Foundation\nMason Ailstock is a recognized leader in innovation districts and anchor-driven developments. With nearly 20 years’ experience working with non-profit institutions\, governments and industry\, Mason has a track record of converging real estate\, academia\, and business to advance communities of innovation. Immersed in the planning and visioning of Rowen\, Mason is responsible for project leadership and operations as President of Rowen Foundation\, the non-profit steward that ensures the long-term vision for Rowen is never compromised. \nPrior to leading Rowen\, Mason served as the Chief Operating Officer of Research Triangle Park the largest research park in North America. Mason is the Past President of the Association of University Research Parks (AURP)\, Co-Chairman of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) University Development & Innovation Council\, a member of the ULI Center for Leadership\, and the Global Eisenhower Fellowships. \nEric Pinckney\nProject Executive\, Commercial Real Estate\nIntegral\nEric L. Pinckney is the Project Executive responsible for the implementation of Assembly in Doraville\, GA\, which is a 145 acre\, 10 million square foot redevelopment of the former General Motors plant in metro Atlanta and one of the largest transit oriented developments in the United States. He has been affiliated with Integral since the company’s inception in 1993. Mr. Pinckney has over 25 years of real estate industry experience\, including $1.5 billion in multifamily development and $100 million in public improvements. His know-how encompasses engineering design\, construction management\, project management\, and real estate development. \nMr. Pinckney earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in City Planning from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a member of Leadership Atlanta Class of 2013\, and currently serves on the boards of the Georgia Tech Fellowship of Christian Athletes\, and the Arthur Blank YMCA. \nClyde Higgs\nPresident & CEO\nAtlanta BeltLine\, Inc.\nClyde Higgs currently serves as CEO & President of Atlanta BeltLine\, Inc. In this role he leads the executive team in providing oversight of the Economic Development\, Design & Construction\, Real Estate Development\, Housing\, Procurement\, and Human Resources activities of ABI.  He also lends his leadership to establishing and expanding strong working relationships with private and public partners across the region\, state and nation. Clyde brings 20 years’ experience in economic development\, real estate\, intellectual property\, technology\, strategic planning\, design\, real estate development\, grant and donor funding\, and government relations\, with a diversity of projects including those that specialize in urban innovation\, science and technology. \nClyde is a graduate of the University of South Alabama and holds a graduate degree in Public Administration from East Carolina University. He has served on numerous boards and professional organizations\, including two gubernatorial appointments: by Texas Governor Rick Perry to the Texas Emerging Technology (Board) for early stage companies working on innovations in the fields of biotechnology\, healthcare\, energy and information technology; and by North Carolina Governor Beverly Perdue to the State Board of Community Colleges where he served as Vice Chair. \nKatie Leonart\nVice President of Real Estate and Facility Development\nWellstar Health Systems\nKatie Leonard serves as Wellstar Health System Vice President of Real Estate and Facility Development Services.  In her role\, Katie provides strategic oversight and direction for construction\, real estate\, security\, and overall plant operations and maintenance of Wellstar owned and managed properties. \nKatie is an established industry leader with over 20 years of experience in complex facility management\, field operations\, cost and risk analysis\, and procurement. Throughout her career\, she has specialized in healthcare and higher education capital investments. \nKatie holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia Tech.  In addition to her degree\, Katie is a LEED AP BD+C accredited professional.
