SUMMARY:NOMAtlanta Project Pipeline Program 2022
DESCRIPTION:Our annual summer camp empowers young people to affect change in their community through design. By connecting young people to real-world architects and planners\, we help foster the next generation of design professionals\, civic leaders\, and changemakers while advocating for increased inclusiveness\, diversity\, fellowship\, equity\, and excellence in design throughout Metro Atlanta. Pipeline students are asked to think creatively about the spaces around them and are allowed to investigate how they can best influence those spaces. Each day consists of various hands-on activities and learning sessions designed to encourage students to synthesize and interpret new information as they develop a new building for their city to engage with. By the end of camp\, Pipeline students would have created the structure that would fit within their city blocks for a better city and designed a community that reflects their academic\, cultural\, and design interests! \n

SUMMARY:SPIKE Studio: Ignite Excellence\, Creativity & Innovation 2022 Summer Academy
DESCRIPTION:SPIKE Studio is proud to bring you our 2022 Summer Academy Live and In-Person at Georgia Piedmont Technical College! \nThis year’s SPIKE Studio Academy experience will explore the true definition of family within the greater community in post COVID world. Today we are all contemplating the true definition of “returning to normalcy” and what it means to reconnect as a community. This year’s project elements and construction will explore and engage the students on ideas and memories of home\, human interaction. \nStudents (Grades 8-12) will design a structure in their own property that can be private or inclusive of their extended community. The space and construction will explore engaging both personal space as well as the community. In addition\, students will be exposed to design exercises and speaker presentations that explore cultural celebrations\, sustainability\, public health\, and similar design projects that reinforce the project themes from architects\, engineers and other industry professionals.

DESCRIPTION:Architecture + Industrial Design \nThe Pre-College Design program consists of two-week in-person workshops in architecture\, building construction\,  industrial design\, and music technology. Hosted by the College of Design at the Georgia Institute of Technology\, this program allows us to engage with our world-class faculty and current students and give high-school (rising juniors and rising seniors) students insight into studying design.
