2024 Atlanta Extreme Heat Symposium

August 7, 2024 @ 9:00 am 1:00 pm

We’re excited to welcome you to the 2024 Atlanta Extreme Heat Symposium. This event aims to integrate various disciplines to explore proactive approaches for mitigating heat effects in the city. Participants include the public, students, designers, planners, and policymakers. The symposium program features a keynote address, panel discussions, networking sessions, and an exhibition gallery showcasing the impact of built environments, heat-absorbing infrastructure, development strategies, city planning, policy, community health risks, local resilience efforts, and advocacy. It’s an excellent opportunity for research, design exploration, and engagement.

Registration for the inaugural symposium is free to encourage maximum participation. For any questions or inquiries about participation, please reach out to Tyrone Marshall at tyrone.marshall@perkinswill.com.

This event is made possible by the generous support of the Architecture Foundation of Georgia IMPACT Grant, funded by the American Institute of Architects, Georgia Association (AIAGA.ORG), and administered by the Architecture Foundation of Georgia (AFGA).

NOMAtlanta proudly partners with AREA Research (Advancing Reimaging Expanding Applying Research) to present this year’s symposium to be graciously hosted in the atrium of Georgia Tech’s Kendeda Building
